Additive Manufacturing

Elevate your Manufacturing

Hartwig Additive is our dedicated initiative in the field of Additive Manufacturing (AM), also known as 3D Printing. Our team of experts ensures seamless integration of AM technologies into existing production processes. Whether it's rapid prototyping, tooling, or end-use parts, Hartwig Additive empowers manufacturers to achieve greater efficiency, design freedom, and cost savings.
Business Case Evaluations

OEMs and other tiered suppliers are beginning to adopt additive manufacturing technology for its clear benefits—the ability to produce highly complex parts while reducing waste being just one. But does additive make sense for your operation? Our experts can help you analyze your situation and make the right determination, so you can stay both fiscally prudent and on the leading edge of technology.

Secondary Machining

Most additive manufactured parts require additional machining once they have been printed. These processes can include simply freeing the part from the base plate or other functions such as tapping, hole drilling, and polished finishes, to name a few. We can help you leverage your existing equipment to perform these operations, recommend the proper equipment to add to your shop (EDM and band saw technology are common), or connect you with a quality Hartwig-approved partner who can perform the necessary secondary machining on your parts.

Application Engineering

Hartwig represents machines some of the top equipment brands in the industry- EOS, Markforged, Solukon, Sodick, and Formalloy!

SLS and DMLS

Our full line of EOS machines features a broad range of capabilities, including SLS and DLMS.

SLS (selective laser sintering) uses a high-powered laser to fuse particles together, layer by layer, to create a 3D object. This process uses highly engineered Plastic Polymers to help manufacture a range of industry applications.

During DMLS (direct metal laser sintering), a thin metal layer of powder is spread uniformly on the building plate with an automated roller. The high powered lasers sinter the metal powder layer by layer. The powder bed is maintained at an elevated temperature so that the metal powder is at an optimum temperature for the sintering.
