DEDICATION & STRONG AFTER-THE-SALE SUPPORT LEADS TO A $2.9 MILLION INVESTMENT PROJECT
D&L Oil Tools, headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma, designs, manufactures, and assembles downhole equipment for customers in both domestic and international markets. In October, D&L held a Grand Opening and Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony at its new 62,000 ft2 facility. The $4.9 million expansion and massive space include renovations which house quality assurance, shipping and receiving, assembly, saw and raw materials, engineering, and a brand new warehouse.

In addition to the expansion, a $2.9 million investment was made in D&L’s current facility with the purchase of the Okuma MULTUS B750. This machine includes heavy duty motors and dual spindles so parts can be completed from raw material. The machines thermal deformation compensation ensures part accuracy and collision avoidance that protects the machine from operator errors.

An additional sixty-five workers were hired with the new expansion. D&L has experienced a 250 percent increase in employees in the past five years, more than doubling its workforce since 2009.
Hartwig met with D&L in 2013 when Jeff Hylton, D&L Oil Tools Manufacturing Manager, attended the Hartwig Tulsa Open House. There he was presented with a quote for 16 machines.
At that same Open House, Hartwig Chairman – Gary Hartwig, made an honest point that Hartwig was not the cheapest option, but provided the value that could end up saving them money in the long run.

Over the following year, Hartwig stood behind the commitment to support and became a valuable partner. D&L was able to achieve quotas they never believed they could. Reduced cycle times and improved efficiency occurred as well, with the help of Hartwig’s Application Engineering team.
Along with D&L’s purchase of the Okuma MULTUS came the need for additional Engineering support. Chris Harris, Hartwig Sales Engineer, recalls, “We spent over a year preparing for a test cut and cutting the parts they needed to approve this machine. We secured this work as well.”
