Applications Engineer - Metal Removal Technology Division - Houston, Texas

A highly energetic and intelligent Applications Engineer is responsible for:

  • Demonstration of floor machines
  • Performing time studies or process improvement recommendations to the sales department.
  • Providing technical phone support.
  • Developing turnkey proposals for integrating machinery and equipment into the manufacturing process. 
  • Overseeing machine installations.
  • Developing and testing alternative processing methods.
  • Conducting research, drafting proposals and presenting proposals to customers.
  • Performing on-site customer programming and machine operation training to customers.

To join the Hartwig team, the ideal candidate should meet the following qualifications:

  • Two-year degree in Manufacturing Engineering or work experience equivalent.
  • Previous work history should include machining process development, project management, exposure to technical sales, CNC programming skills and a strong mechanical background.
  • Okuma machine programming experience is desired but not required.
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge and application of machine tool products, options and functions.
  • Have a strong mechanical/technical aptitude.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and customer relationship building.
  • Be proficient in all aspects of using Microsoft Office software, CAD/CAM software and personal computers
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Occasional travel required.

Technical Sales Engineer - Portable Products

 

A highly energetic and intelligent Technical Sales Engineer is responsible for:

·         Technical selling.

·         Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of metrology equipment.

·         Effectively demonstrate knowledge and application of products at customer facilities.

·         Establish direct relationships with customers in territory and network for referrals.

·         Provide on-site technical training to customers.

·         Conduct presentations to customers during trade shows.

·         Conduct presentations to other Hartwig salesmen.

·         Assume responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.

 

To join the Hartwig team, the ideal candidate should meet the following qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in the Manufacturing Sector (Metrology experience a plus).
  • Have a strong mechanical/technical aptitude.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and customer relationship building.
  • Excellent attention to detail and well organized.
  • Ability to operate telephone, PC, copier, fax, and other basic business machines.
  • Knowledge of all related computer applications (CRM experience a plus).

Service Engineer -- Metal Removal Technology Division - Dallas, TX

A highly energetic and intelligent Service Engineer is responsible for:

  • Performing troubleshooting and problem solving of CNC Machine Tools.
  • Conducting high quality, efficient and timely repair, preventative maintenance, and machine/tooling installations as assigned.
  • Training and instructing customers, and internal team members, on proper installation, service/repair procedures for current and new equipment/machines and processes.
  • Consulting with other team members, internal departments and/or external vendors to resolve issues related to installation and service/repair.
  • Accurately documenting, completing and reporting required information for work records and reports.
  • Continuously reviewing current processes and searches for improvement methods.  Recommends modifications and improvements to machine/equipment, processes and procedures.

To join the Hartwig team, the ideal candidate should meet the following qualifications:

  • Two-year degree in Manufacturing Engineering or work experience equivalent.
  • Preferred Formal education/training in the troubleshooting, repair and installation of CNC Machine Tool Products but not necessary.
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in the troubleshooting, repair and installation of CNC Machine Tool Products.
  • Strong Mechanical and Electrical troubleshooting and repair experience.
  • Demonstrated application and commitment of customer satisfaction.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to maintain professional conduct when dealing with customers, peers, builder representatives and suppliers.
  • Demonstrated self-starter and effective planning and organization skills.
  • Able to use PC and job related software/programs for programming, documentation/record keeping.
